RESEARCH ON PERCEIVED WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS AFFECTING HEALTH STATUS OF THE INDUSTRIAL WORKERS

Abstract
There has been a rapid industrial progress in Korea since 1962 by the success of b --year economic development plan, and the number of industrial work and workers has also made a rapid increase. Consequently, the management of the occupational health for the purpose of promoting the health of industrial workers and improving the working environment is badly needed in these days.
Thus, this study has been carried out to analyze the relationship among the personal variables, the variables of social support, the variables of the perceived working environment, the perceived working conditions and the physical and mental health status of industrial workers.
The results were as follows: The young age group especially the group who had short work duration less than¢¥ two years had high THI scores which were statistically significant. As for income,¢¥ the THI scores were higher in the large and small income group than in the medium income group.
As for the variable of the social support, the THI scores were significantly high in the groups of workers having no close co-worker and family, and the differences were statistically significant.
As for the variable of perceived working environment and working conditions, the THI scores were higher in the group of workers with bad perception than good perception in the working environment and working conditions.
According to the multiple regression analysis, the variable of the social support, working environment, working conditions had the greatest influence on health status of workers.
